Chrome-free Paint Systems

Dec. 1, 2014

AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings receives AMS 3095A qualification of new, 100 percent chrome-free paint systems for commercial fleet maintenance. The new systems provide customers with increased flexibility and choice, including multiple topcoat options and the possibility to choose between water based surface pretreatment or a unique direct-to-metal (DTM) system. The chrome-free systems also meet, and exceed, stringent aviation industry specifications for adhesion and corrosion resistance. Marketed under the name Aerodur HS 2118, the chrome-free primer is formulated with the latest, low VOC, high solids technology and demonstrates AkzoNobel’s leading position in chrome-free technology to provide corrosion protection.
