Disability Access Audit

June 20, 2013

We are leaders in providing disability access audits for mass transport services. Direct Access has surveyed and audited from local community transport services to some of the world’s largest airports.

Our access audits will assess your premises and infrastructure to ensure that all provisions for disabled access is in place. Our consultants live with disabilities and their first-hand experience gives them a trained eye to spot any barriers that the able bodied might not notice.

Transport accessibility audits address and recognises the requirements of the relevant disability legislation in the country of operation and includes recommendations for required remedial actions and ongoing monitoring and control measures. Recommendations are based on guidance from:

·         BS8300:2009 – Design of buildings and their approach to meet the needs of disabled people

·         Accessible train station design for disabled people – a code of practice September 2010

·         Railways for all - the accessibility strategy for Great Britain’s railways

·         European Commission infrastructure guidance

Where modes of transport cross borders we are able to advise on issues from different requirements from departure and arrival points.
