Skyflex aerospace materials Product Image

W. L. Gore has expanded its family of GORE SKYFLEX aerospace materials to include preformed gaskets for multi-face aircraft applications such as hole liners, flange joints, fastener seals, and galley or restroom hard-mounts. These lightweight, nonhazardous gaskets ensure continuous protection between flat interfaces, around chamfers, and inside a component’s mounting hole. By isolating dissimilar materials completely, these new gaskets significantly reduce the likelihood of galvanic corrosion, thereby increasing the life of the component. They do not require any curing time, which reduces downtime and facilitates replacement during component maintenance. Available in diameters from 3 to 150 millimeters, these new gaskets are formed to each customer’s dimensions, and they are easy to install without any special equipment or facilities needed. spline sockets

Product From Proto Industrial Tools

Stanley Proto now offers a line of spline sockets. The line includes 55 SKUs, in 1/4-, 3/8-, 1/2, 3/4- and 1-inch drive models. Standard depth and deep sockets are available in the three smaller drive sizes. The sockets can be used on spline fasteners, as well as on four-, six, and 12-point fasteners. The spline socket/fastener system offers higher strength in a more compact profile than conventional fasteners, making it common on military equipment and commercial aircraft. When a spline socket is placed on a spline fastener, the geometric profile of the socket's 12 teeth provides a large contact area between the tool and the fastener. This lets the user apply more torque with without damaging the tool or the fastener head. Spline sockets can even loosen hex fasteners that have already been partially rounded. The precise fit between spline socket and fastener also helps prevent rounding or breaking off of fastener edges, which in turn, helps reduce the chance of foreign object damage to machinery. That™s because the socket is designed to move the torque load away from the fastener corners, in addition to transferring it over a broader surface area.
