The Aerowing HELITEST Wing Kit (HWK) is able to quickly locate the source of a fuel leak, inside the tank, by using helium leak detection. This reduces the amount of time it takes to repair a fuel leak. By applying low pressure helium to the tank structure at the exit point of the leak, the HWK can detect where the helium is entering the tank. The helium will easily travel through the leak path and expose the location where the fuel is getting out. Using the "intrinsically safe" probe, (rated safe to be used inside aircraft fuel tanks), the HWK can safely help find the leak source, in a much shorter time than traditional methods. In addition, the HWK can be used to verify the leak repair before refueling. This feature alone saves untold time and money by reducing the potential for a re-leak.
