WSF Horizontal-jacked Autoclave

Dec. 10, 2008
A customized, large-capacity industrial autoclave was designed and built by WSF Industries Inc., as a component of a hydrostatic press system used to mold powder metal carbide tool bits. The WSF horizontal-jacketed autoclave measures 53.5-inch diameter by 110-inch SSL, provides 1,000 psig at 200 F, and also includes a wax collection tank, hot condenser, piping and structure frame. The system features three of the company™s patented Rapidoor fast-actuating closures, one each on the front and back of the autoclave, and one on the wax collection tank. The hydrostatic press system carries out the several steps involved in the liquid phase sintering of the powdered metal products. The main furnace is a closed system within the autoclave pressure vessel and performs the presinter, sinter, and hot isostatic pressing of preforms, according to WSF.
