July 16, 2018

Vacationers taking to the summer skies at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) will find new shopping and dining options on the horizon. Fraport Maryland recently welcomed several new shops to the nation’s 22nd largest airport, with offerings ranging from market fresh produce and street food to smart carry-ons.

“BWI Marshall continues to be such a fast-growing airport, our challenge is find and activate new space to keep pace with the growth,” says Brett Kelly, vice president, Fraport Maryland, developer and manager of the retail program at BWI Marshall Airport. “These concepts are great additions to the lineup of productive stores, restaurants and services here.”

  • Whether travel takes you five blocks or five time zones, stylish, functional bags are within reach at the new (300 sq. ft.) baggallini store in the A/B food court. • Much like a produce stand, the new Farmers Market (100 sq. ft.) in the B Concourse specializes in “fresh from the market” preparations with plentiful stocks of fresh fruit and vegetable snacks. Travelers can enjoy locally made snacks and an array of “grab and go” sandwiches, salads and treats. Hours are 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.martini, the new (455 sq. ft.) upscale craft cocktail bar in the A/B food court, specializes in delicious cocktails, craft beers and signature martinis. Also on the menu are locally inspired sandwiches and bar snacks. Hours are 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • In the main terminal, authentic Mexican and American street food, ranging from tacos and burritos to burgers, wings and super-charged hot dogs, are paired with local and world craft beers at Sir Veza’s Kitchen and Kantina (1,000 sq. ft.). The rustic garage “sports and gastropub” theme pays homage to the founder’s passion for American muscle cars and motorcycles. Hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.
