In addition to serving business-based customers and helping Denver thrive, TAC Air APA keeps their sights set on charitable efforts and bolstering the vibrant aviation community of the Greater Denver Area.

DENVER — KAPA, Centennial Airport is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2018 and TAC Air APA (TAC Air), a Phillips 66® branded FBO, has been part of the thriving aviation community in Denver, Colorado for 18 years, playing an influential role in the continued business development and growth of the area. Nestled on the edge of the Denver Technological Center, only 30 minutes from downtown Denver and an hour north of Colorado Springs, TAC Air APA has an influx of executives and business clientele who make use of the 24/7 operations, executive terminal and impressive hangar space.

In addition to serving business-based customers and helping Denver thrive, TAC Air APA keeps their sights set on charitable efforts and bolstering the vibrant aviation community of the Greater Denver Area.

TAC Air Charitable Efforts: The Morgan Adams Foundation

Boasting a total of 37 acres, and over 130,000 square-feet of hangar space, TAC Air knew they had to find a way to best utilize their space to benefit the community. TAC Air partnered with The Morgan Adams Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2003 by Joan Slaughter and Steve Adams that is dedicated to assisting children with cancer by funding research that will ultimately make treatment more tolerable, more effective and far less damaging in the long run. Through the partnership, an annual fundraiser, The Morgan Adams Concours d’Elegance, was born. This unique event raises half a million dollars each year and brings several thousand attendees to TAC Air APA, where they can see a variety of aircraft, aviation products and vintage cars on display.

“It is amazing that our passion for aviation is what led us to the creation of one our foundation’s most successful fundraisers,” says Slaughter, co-founder of The Morgan Adams Foundation. “With the help of TAC Air, it sells out every year and we’re excited to be celebrating our 16th anniversary of the event this September.”

In addition to the event, TAC Air has participated with Centennial Airport providing children who are part of the foundation the opportunity to participate in a job shadowing program. One story in particular stands out in which the child developed a love and passion for aviation while successfully fighting cancer. The Morgan Adams Foundation connected with TAC Air and Centennial Airport to organize and the opportunity to shadow the Executive Director of the airport for a day, a ride on a tug, with supervision of course, as well as an opportunity to explore the control tower and tour the runways.

“I feel honored we can be such an integral partner to The Morgan Adams Foundation,” says Dan Bryant, General Manager of TAC Air APA. “It goes beyond the fun we have hosting The Morgan Adams Concours d’Elegance, which is a great time, but it is really about the lives that we can change and the kids we have the opportunity to help along the way.”

TAC Air Charitable Efforts: Dog is My Copilot, Inc.

The Morgan Adams Foundation partnership is not the only way TAC Air gives back to the community. In conjunction with the organization Dog is My Copilot, Inc., the FBO routinely assists with transportation of abandoned pets to forever homes or rescue shelters. Recently the FBO took part in the relocation of dogs and cats from areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. In 2017, TAC Air APA received six planes filled with rescue animals and provided food and water at their first stop before continuing the journey to forever homes.

Preferred Community Partner

When asked about the FBO’s partnership with Phillips 66, Bryant says, “Phillips 66 has done a beautiful job as a fuel supplier – one of the few companies that has a long-standing and sincere commitment to aviation. They have a rich history rooted in the passion for aviation and have been a great partner.”

TAC Air APA currently utilizes all of the Phillips 66 offerings, including participation in WingPoints® Rewards Program and NATA Safety 1st Online Training.
