American Airlines Introduces Oakland–Dallas Nonstop

April 3, 2018

On April 3, at Oakland International Airport (OAK), American Airlines commences daily nonstop service between OAK and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). The new link is significant for Bay Area residents, providing OAK with roughly 100 unique connections currently not possible through American’s Phoenix hub.

American offers more than 760 daily flights from DFW, serving more than 200 destinations in 31 countries.

The new daily service departs Dallas/Fort Worth at 9:10 a.m., arriving at Oakland at 10:37 a.m. The return flight departs OAK at 11:30 a.m. and arrives back in Dallas at 5:20 p.m. (all times are local). A second flight, added for the peak summer season, will operate westbound from DFW at 10:35 p.m., arriving at OAK at 12:13 a.m.  The eastbound flight will operate overnight, departing OAK at 11:49 p.m. and arriving DFW at 5:14 a.m.

“We celebrate and acknowledge our partners at American Airlines in offering this new daily nonstop service to the people living and working both here in the Bay Area and in the Dallas/Fort Worth area,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation, Bryant L. Francis. “This route represents a new link between regions known for culture and opportunity, and both regions will benefit greatly from the convenient and greatly improved access.”

Airport officials say that the significance of this flight addition is substantial in that the extensive list of unique nonstop markets available via DFW make it possible to reach numerous markets not currently accessible with a single connection from OAK.
