Kingsport, TN, February 27, 2018—Rotorlift Aviation, a leading Australian aviation company based in Tasmania that operates both rotor and fixed-wing aircraft in a variety of mission applications, has recently identified significant improvements in overall fleet engine health after switching to Eastman Turbo Oil 2197™. Rotorlift provides search and rescue, fire, training and charter services, with their mixed fleet.

When Gary Meiklejohn joined Rotorlift Aviation as chief engineer, they were using a variety of oils across the fleet. He understood the importance of oil selection and wanted to reevaluate those choices to improve operations. While researching oil options, a colleague recommended Eastman Turbo Oil 2197™ after seeing overall engine health improvements in his own operations. Those improvements included reduced engine coking, less engine damage, shorter downtime, and lower overall maintenance needs.

As chief engineer, Meiklejohn is responsible for all technical operations within the organization and successfully drove a fleet-wide conversion to Eastman Turbo Oil 2197 for the helicopter fleet at Rotorlift, which consists of an Airbus EC130, (2) Kawasaki BK 177s, (2) Bell 206 JetRangers, (2) Bell 222s, and (2) Airbus AS 355 Twin Squirrel helicopters.

Eastman Turbo Oil 2197 has been exclusively used in Rotorlift turbine engines for over 5 years now, allowing more time between maintenance and providing other benefits such as a universal application fleet-wide, ease of operation, and ready availability of the product. Rotorlift noted that the engines using Eastman’s market-leading HPC oil, Eastman Turbo Oil 2197, burn cleaner and result in overall lower operation costs.

"When you receive OEM recommendations for an oil conversion, the decision to switch is simple. I am very happy with the performance of Eastman Turbo Oil 2197 in our aircraft," said Meiklejohn.

Eastman Turbo Oil 2197™ is the industry's leading high performance capable oil with more than 400 million hours of proven performance. Eastman's staff will be exhibiting at HAI Heli-Expo 2018 Booth # C6651 for more information on this conversion.
