Jan. 16, 2018

On Jan. 16, American Express announced it will open its largest location of The Centurion Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 4, one of the most active air terminals in the United States. With spectacular views of the airfield, exceptional amenities, and one-of-a-kind design elements, the new lounge spans more than 15,000-square-feet across two levels. The lounge is estimated to open by early 2019.

The Centurion Lounge at JFK Terminal 4 will include special new features to be announced closer to the lounge’s opening, in addition to those found across all Centurion Lounge locations such as a complimentary custom bar and food menu, premium restrooms and shower suites, access to high-speed Wi-Fi, noise-buffering workspaces, and more.* The lounge will be located post-security on the 4th floor Departures level of Terminal 4.

“We’re excited to bring the Centurion Lounge to JFK, one of the top airports that our Platinum Card Members travel through each year,” said Josh McKay, vice president and general manager, Global Benefits and Services, American Express. “We aim to elevate our Card Members’ travel experiences and our industry-leading lounge program is one of our Card Members’ favorite ways we do this. We look forward to continuing to expand this offering with JFK and more lounges to come.”

The JFK Terminal 4 location is the latest in American Express’ growing network of Centurion Lounges, which includes locations currently open in New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, Miami International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Houston’s George Bush International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport.

“We are thrilled to be working with American Express to bring The Centurion Lounge to Terminal 4,” said Gert-Jan de Graaff, President and CEO of JFKIAT, the company which operates Terminal 4. “Terminal 4 strives to provide passengers with a superior travel experience, and this lounge is a welcome addition to our existing mix of premium terminal amenities. We are excited to soon be able to offer passengers yet another service to take advantage of before departure or during a layover.”

One of six active terminals at JFK Airport, Terminal 4 welcomes more than 21 million annual passengers and accounts for one-third of all traffic at the airport. As a major gateway to New York City and the United States, more than half of Terminal 4’s annual passengers are international travelers.

Platinum Card Members may enter with up to two travel companions at no additional charge. Centurion Members may enter with their immediate family or up to two travel companions.
