Chatsworth, CA- Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc. (Ontic), a BBA Aviation company and the aerospace industry’s leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy products, has licensed the manufacturing rights from the Landing Systems business segment of UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for its full range of military aftermarket landing gear.
This is another addition to the increasing and substantial portfolio of products that Ontic supports for UTAS under license in a relationship that began over 40 years ago with Ontic’s first license from Sundstrand Corporation in 1974.
Under the agreement Ontic will manufacture and support aftermarket spares for landing gear on the A-6E, AAH/AH-64, C-2A, E-2C, E-2D, EA-6B, MH-60, SH-60B, OV-10, F-16 and T-37 aircraft. The products will be supported from Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA, facility.
According to Matthew Maurer, Vice President of Military Programs for the UTAS Landing Systems business, “Licensing of legacy military landing gear aftermarket programs enables us to offer our products to customers and operators in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner while also providing technical expertise as the original equipment provider.”
