ViaAir Announces Austin to Oklahoma City, Tucson Nonstop Flights

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport welcomed ViaAir’s announcement of  new nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (OKC) and to Tucson, Arizona (TUS), beginning Jan. 18.

These new flights join ViaAir’s nonstop option from Austin that includes the winter seasonal flights between Austin and Steamboat Springs / Hayden, Colorado that is scheduled to start on Dec. 13.

“Austin is an amazing, fast-growing city.  We are thrilled to bring the convenience of direct flights to the markets of Tucson and Oklahoma City as the start of expanded service in the region.  We will roll out additional cities throughout next year as we hope to be known as Austin’s hometown airline,” said Matthew Macri, ViaAir’s Vice President of Operations.

ViaAir plans to base crews and maintenance at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, positioning its Austin based operations to expand, the carrier reports.

Four days per week, the Austin to Oklahoma City nonstop flights depart Austin at 5:05 p.m. and arrive in Oklahoma City at 6:25 p.m., on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. In the opposite direction, the nonstop flight departs Oklahoma City at 7:10 p.m. and arrives in Austin at 8:30 p.m. All times are local.

Three days per week, the Austin to Tucson nonstop flight departs Austin at 10:50 a.m. and arrives in Tucson at 12:20 p.m., on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.  In the opposite direction, the nonstop flight departs Tucson at 1:05 p.m. and arrives in Austin at 4:10 p.m. All times are local.

ViaAir is partnering with Embark Aviation to commercially manage these flights which includes: pricing, revenue management, network planning, and marketing functions.
