Allegiant Begins 3 New Nonstop Routes to Southwest Florida

Allegiant on Nov. 15, launched new nonstop routes to Punta Gorda / Fort Myers from St. Cloud, Minnesota; and two New York cities: Rochester and Newburgh. 

“We’re thrilled to add three new routes to vibrant, Punta Gorda,” said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant senior vice president of commercial. “Southwest Florida is a great escape for our northern travelers and we know these new routes will not only benefit the travelers, but also impact the Punta Gorda economy.”

New seasonal nonstop service to Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) includes:

  • 1. St. Cloud via St. Cloud Regional Airport (STC) – beginning Nov. 15

New year-round nonstop service to Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) includes:

  • 1. Newburgh via Stewart International Airport (SWF) – beginning Nov. 17
  • 2. Rochester via Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) – beginning Nov. 17

These new routes will operate twice weekly and bring more than 45,000 additional visitors to the Fort Myers / Punta Gorda area annually, allowing for more visitor spending and economic growth in the community. Allegiant will now offer 40 nonstop routes to the Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). 

“We are excited for the start of these new Allegiant routes to Punta Gorda Airport, especially as we begin to welcome back our seasonal residents and visitors,” said Paul Andrews, Charlotte County Airport Authority chair. “As Allegiant continues to add low-cost, nonstop destinations, more people are able to discover the attractiveness of Punta Gorda and Southwest Florida.”
