Wow Air to Increase Seasonal Service Between BWI and Iceland by 45%

Nov. 15, 2017

WOW air will expand its service to and from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) during the busy summer travel season. Between May 18 and Sept. 16, WOW air will offer 11 flights per week between BWI and Keflavik International Airport (KEF).

By adding the extra flight service, WOW air’s 2018 summer flight capacity from BWI to KEF will increase 45 percent in comparison to summer 2017. Starting in May, two daily flights will be available from BWI to KEF on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with daily service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Currently WOW air operates daily roundtrip flights between BWI and KEF. WOW air began service to BWI in May 2015 with four seasonal roundtrip daily flights between BWI and Iceland with connections available to many other European destinations.

“The large demand for Icelandic and European travel has allowed continued growth from BWI to KEF,” said Skúli Mogensen, WOW air’s founder and CEO. “We’re humbled and thrilled to offer more ultra-low-cost flight opportunities to our loyal customers, and hope to make it possible for many more people to travel to Iceland and on to Europe.”

“We welcome this international expansion from WOW air,” said Ricky Smith, Executive Director for BWI Marshall Airport. “Added air service means more choices for travelers. We continue working with airlines to boost service for our customers.”
