New Flights to Take Off at TLH

Oct. 30, 2017

On Oct. 30, the Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) and American Airlines announced that a new daily flight between TLH and Washington, D.C., will begin starting on Feb. 15.

"This new air service is a tremendous step forward for our airport and the regional customers we support around North Florida. The ability to move seamlessly between Florida's capital and the nation's capital is extremely advantageous for our community, as we work to create new and dynamic economic opportunities to Tallahassee," Mayor Andrew Gillum said.

"Since my return to the City Commission, we've worked tirelessly to provide accessible flights to our top three requested destinations - New York, Fort Lauderdale and Washington, D.C.," City Commissioner Scott Maddox said. "Today, it is my extreme pleasure to deliver on one of those requests, thus giving residents, visitors, students, business leaders and lawmakers daily non-stop access between Tallahassee and our nation's capital."

American Airlines will fly its 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft on this new flight, which will be offered once daily starting February 15, 2018. The inaugural flight from Ronald Reagan Washington Airport (DCA) will arrive to TLH at 9:57 p.m. The first departing flight from TLH is scheduled for 7:10 a.m. on February 16, 2018.

"We're very pleased to announce the return of service between Tallahassee and our nation's capital," said Michael Minerva, American's vice president – Government and Airport Affairs. "This daily, nonstop flight will allow Tallahasseeans and customers throughout North Florida to make a day trip to Washington for business or a longer trip for sightseeing and leisure."
