AERO Specialties showcases the Safe-Lav at inter airport Europe 2017

Oct. 16, 2017

Munich, Germany, Oct. 10, 2017 -- Countless dollars and flight hours are lost each year due to the damage caused by overfilling the aircraft lavatory system. The new patented AERO Specialties Safe-Lav system utilizes a dedicated batching tank to determine and restrict the maximum quantity of fluid that can be delivered to the airframe.

The simple system eliminates the potential for aircraft overfilling due to broken flow meters or human error during the fill process; the two leading causes of lavatory overfills. This product can be installed on new lavatory service carts or as a retro-fit kit to units in the field. Additionally, the Safe-Lav product by AERO Specialties is also supplied as a dual tank system to allow for servicing of aircraft requiring blue water, as well as airframes that require clear water for flushing, sensor servicing and maintenance functions.

This inexpensive, simple, yet ingenious system will save the aviation industry millions of dollars in aircraft damage and aircraft downtime.

“Aircraft lavatory service is not the most pleasant aspect of aviation, but as we all know is very necessary. Overfilling the system damages not only the lavatory components, but can flood the airframe galley and fuselage. The cost of an incident is staggering. This simple device can save our customers greatly in terms of repair costs and down time for the aircraft,” said general manager Brad Streeter.
