Airport Lounge Development Announces the Opening of The Club at Pittsburgh International Airport

Oct. 13, 2017

Airport Lounge Development Inc. (ALD) announced Oct. 13, the opening of a permanent location for The Club at Pittsburgh International Airport. The temporary location was opened on June 12 on Concourse C and this move to the permanent location will come with over 1,800 square feet of space for guests to enjoy. Globally, this is the 17th shared-use lounge operated by ALD for The Club network.

The Club will be a respite for busy travelers with the atmosphere enhanced with local photography adorning the walls by JP Diroll, a photographer born and raised in Pittsburgh. JP is a Carnegie Mellon graduate and an engineer who turned self-taught photographer. When guests visit The Club, they will be able to appreciate his photography highlighting unique areas within the region while enjoying a range of dedicated spaces, including a Relaxation Zone, Replenish Zone and a Productivity Zone with Wi-Fi, desktop workstations and a printer. Local photography is a key feature in the majority of ALD’s lounge network locations.

Guests will also be offered all-inclusive premium spirits, beer, wine and sodas as well as light snacks, soups and salads. Local chef Kate Romane will be an ongoing consultant on the menus for The Club at Pittsburgh International Airport and will be delivering hand-selected delicious dishes with local flair, including a prosciutto cotto, caraway onion, arugula, smoked gouda and rosemary honey mustard sandwich, a signature salad of radicchio, spinach, bibb, pancetta, sheep's feta and seasonal vinaigrette, and hot dishes of penne pepato, sausage and peppers, and meatballs with red sauce.

Kate Romane is known for being a chef owner of the neighborhood favorite restaurant e2, developing farm dinners with local farms, creating locally driven site specific "Big Table" pop-up dinners, and for her work developing the seasonally driven catering and events space, Black Radish Kitchen. Kate Romane has won numerous awards, including being named one of the 10 Best Brunch Spots In America in Men’s Journal and one of the Best Restaurants in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh Magazine from 2011-2015.
