Marketplace PHL and Philadelphia International Airport Announce Merchant of the Year

MarketPlace PHL recognized Chickie’s & Pete’s in Concourse A-West as the Merchant of the Year at the 10th annual EDGIE Award celebration, hosted at Sky Philadelphia.

“We are so excited and honored to be recognized as the Merchant of the Year,” said Paul Porter, general manager of Chickie’s & Pete’s. Along with winning the coveted “Merchant of the Year” title, MarketPlace PHL also presented Chickie’s & Pete’s with a $1,000 cash prize and the Merchant of the Year trophy. As the Merchant of the Year winner, Chickie’s & Pete’s also receives a billboard advertisement recognizing its achievement along the busy I-95 corridor near the airport. In attendance to accept the award on behalf of all the staff at Chickie’s & Pete’s was Tanya Throckmorton, Ricardo Kirkland, Jason Seiberlich, Anna Doucoure, Paul Porter, Jill Dresnin, Joe Campbell and Donte Harris.

Philadelphia Marketplace’s Cutting EDGE! Program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences!) is designed to motivate and reward restaurants and retailers for providing exemplary customer service to travelers and employees at PHL. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service, marketing and training. At the end of each quarter, the merchants with the most points are named Merchant of the Quarter, and the merchant with the most points overall at the end of the year is named Merchant of the Year.

The restaurant and retail quarterly winners for 2016-2017 were:

  • Q2: Chickie’s & Pete’s (Concourse C) and InMotion Entertainment (D/E Connector)
  • Q3: Legal Sea Foods (B/C Connector) and Roster (B/C Connector)
  • Q4: Chickie’s & Pete’s (Concourse A-West) and Stellar News (Concourse F)
