Norfolk International Airport (ORF) reported a 6.58 percent increase in passenger activity for the month of August with 322,455 passengers. This figure compares to an August 2016 passenger count of 302,549. January to August passenger traffic has increased 4.28 percent. August marks the 27th consecutive month of year-over-year passenger growth at ORF.
In other activity, 6,091,146 pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of the airport during August. This represents a 2.40 percent increase versus August 2016, which saw 5,948,228 pounds of cargo shipped. January to August cargo pounds shipped has increased 4.65 percent.
The above-mentioned figures are a reflection of the service by the following airlines: American, Delta, Southwest, United and their regional airline partners. Cargo carriers include Federal Express, Mountain Air Cargo and UPS.
