Fraport USA Invites Travelers to Celebrate the Region at Cleveland and Pittsburgh Airports

Sept. 14, 2017

Travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) are invited to experience regional flavor and celebrate community pride with a week of fun activities, live entertainment, special guests, tasty treats and promotions throughout the airport from Sept.18-22.

“Celebrate Cleveland and Discover Pittsburgh are our way of showcasing the rich culture of these cities,” said Ben Zandi, president and CEO, Fraport USA. “We are bringing a taste of each region’s celebrated cuisine and vibrant arts scene into the terminal to give travelers a sense of place before they even leave the airport.”

Celebrate Cleveland welcomes Cleveland Indians’ mascot Slider, Professor Wylde’s traveling show from Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Cleveland’s own Singing Angels to the airport. Malley’s Chocolates and Mitchell’s Ice Cream will also treat travelers to complimentary treats during the week.

Pittsburgh International Airport is teaming up with Airmall Pittsburgh for the third annual Discover Pittsburgh week, also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the airport and its award-winning retail and dining program. Throughout the week, PIT will welcome Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Science Center, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, The National Aviary and the Pittsburgh Zoo in addition to mascots Iceburgh, the Pirate Parrot, Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Ronald McDonald and the Chick-fil-A cow. Delightful samplings of bites and beverages from local brands will be offered each day at
The Strip Market. Local artists and bands including Billy Price, LoveBettie and the Pittsburgh Mini CLO will perform in the airport’s Center Core.

Travelers are invited to share their favorite activities on social media using #CelebrateCleveland or #DiscoverPittsburgh.
