Due to the destruction throughout Florida caused by Hurricane Irma, we have made the decision to cancel the AEA East Connect Conference scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 18-19, in Jacksonville, Florida.

WE ARE WORKING TO RESCHEDULE THE CONFERENCE FOR LATER THIS YEAR. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW ASAP.

Currently, the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront -- the site of the AEA East Connect Conference -- is closed due to potential flooding and storms from Irma. It is not known when the hotel will reopen to guests. As soon as we can communicate with hotel staff about possible dates in early December, we will share that information with you.

According to the hotel's website, "Hotel operations are currently impacted by Hurricane Irma passing through the area. Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront is waiving all cancellation charges and refunding all deposits for stays during this period. Please contact 1-800-323-7249 with any questions about upcoming reservations, as storms may be affecting hotel communications."

We regret having to cancel the AEA East Connect Conference; this is the first time in 60 years of AEA history that we have had to cancel an event due to a natural disaster. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our attendees and exhibitors.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those members and their families affected by this horrific hurricane.
