Stellar Appoints Yasmin Sheriff Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Alliances

Stellar Partners Inc. announced Aug. 14, the appointment of travel concessions industry veteran Yasmin Sheriff as vice president of business development & strategic alliances. Sheriff will be responsible for developing and managing key airport relationships, winning new travel retail contracts and developing strong strategic partnerships with the small business community.

Sheriff joins Stellar with 15 years of airport industry experience related to concessions business development, negotiation of leases and joint-venture agreements; and has extensive experience working with government agencies in matters involving diversity, compliance, contract law, and transactional law.

In 2007, Sheriff joined HMSHost’s Business Development team as senior director, strategic alliances, building winning strategies for RFPs, advising on legal issues, and developing key partnerships with airport clients and Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. In 2011, she joined HMSHost’s Legal department as assistant general counsel, taking on additional responsibilities including counsel on legal and compliance matters related to business development, marketing, acquisitions, design and construction, operations, guest experience, and finance. Before joining HMSHost, Sheriff was deputy director of diversity for the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) — Logan International Airport.

Sheriff is an active member of several related industry associations including Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), Airports Council International- North America (ACI-NA), and the Massachusetts State Bar.

Sheriff has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Journalism from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from the New England School of Law. Yasmin will be based in Stellar's corporate headquarters in Tampa.
