Allegiant Airlines Adds Nonstop Seasonal Flight to Phoenix

June 20, 2017

The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is on a roll in scoring new nonstop flights to previously unserved markets.

Allegiant Airlines announced June 20, it will add a nonstop seasonal flight from Indy to Phoenix-Mesa twice per week starting in late fall. This new flight makes 47 nonstop flights out of the Indianapolis airport, a record for the new terminal.

“This is the highest number of nonstop destinations the new terminal has served,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director for the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “This latest addition to the lineup further enhances our reach into the Western United States.”

The inaugural Allegiant flight to Phoenix-Mesa will take off on Nov. 17. Flights will be offered on Monday and Friday weekly. The new flight will provide leisure travelers a new vacation destination from November through February.

Allegiant now offers 12 nonstop destinations from Indianapolis. In May, Allegiant launched its inaugural nonstop flights from Indy to Austin, Texas and seasonally to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

“We’re thrilled to announce the only ultra-low-fare, nonstop service to Phoenix for Indianapolis travelers,” said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant senior vice president of commercial. “We know that Phoenix is a popular destination for many Indianapolis travelers, and we are excited to offer a convenient, nonstop service at a fare that everyone can afford.”

In addition to the three new Allegiant Airlines’ destinations, the Indy airport also has announced nonstop year-round flights to San Francisco (Alaska Airlines) and seasonal flights to San Diego (Southwest Airlines) since January.

“Our airline partners are listening to our customers, they’re making the investments to deliver on new nonstop flights and that increases the value the Indy airport can provide to the immediate Indianapolis community and the state’s overall economic opportunity,” said Rodriguez.
