Punta Gorda Airport Passenger Traffic up for 43rd Consecutive Month

The Charlotte County Airport Authority announces the total passenger count for the twelve months ending May 30, is 1,218,411. The Punta Gorda Airport passenger count for May was 97,304. This is a 11.39 percent increase in passenger traffic for May compared with May 2016 (87,352) passengers.

In May, there were 69,601 boarding passengers and 47,693 arriving passengers. This is the 43rd consecutive month the Punta Gorda Airport has seen an increase in passenger traffic in year over year monthly traffic. There were a total of 365 Allegiant Airline flights that landed at the Punta Gorda Airport in May.

Pam Seay, Charlotte County Airport Authority commissioner stated, “The positive economic impact that this has on our community cannot be underestimated. Not only are our residents able to fly inexpensively to a number of different destinations, we are bringing people here who might otherwise never see Punta Gorda and Charlotte County.  And now we are seeing them, not just passing through, but staying and spending money here. That's an impressive and positive impact.”
