Qantas Airways and Jetstar Contract Boeing 787 Fleet Component Support to AFI KLM E&M

With this latest success for its leading Dreamliner MRO offer, AFI KLM E&M now supports 193 Boeing 787 worldwide.

Paris, Amstelveen, 01 June 2017 - Qantas Airways in association with Jetstar have entered into a long term Component Pooling Services Agreement with AFI KLM E&M to support their fleet of Boeing 787s. This brings the total number of 787 customer airlines contracted by AFI KLM E&M to fifteen. The contract covers pool access and repairs and applies to a total fleet of eight 787-9s to be operated by Qantas, and the eleven 787-8s in service with Jetstar. 

To guarantee maximum availability for the supported fleets, Qantas Airways and Jetstar will benefit from direct access to the AFI KLM E&M spares pool stationed at Kuala Lumpur and will be able to rely on its worldwide network of inventories and component repair shops, including AFI KLM E&M main facilities in Paris and Amsterdam.

Qantas is a long-standing AFI KLM E&M client, with component support Agreements in place for its fleet of Airbus A330s and, via AFI KLM E&M's Spairliners joint venture for its fleet of A380s. As for Jetstar, its Vietnam-based branch Jetstar Pacific has recently contracted AFI KLM E&M for component support of its growing fleet of Airbus A320s.

Backed by an airline that itself operates the 787, AFI KLM E&M presents a unique MRO/airline profile offering comprehensive support for the Boeing wide-body aircraft.

Chris Nassenstein, Qantas Airways Executive Manager Engineering, said: "We are pleased to award AFI KLM E&M the 787 Component Pooling Contract.
