Busiest Summer Ever Expected at Austin's Airport

May 23, 2017

Summer is traditionally the busiest season at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Currently, passenger traffic is up 6.5 percent over 2016. Passengers can be better prepared for summer travel by arriving early and know travel restrictions and processes.

Longer than normal lines are likely in ticketing and at TSA security checkpoints. Passengers are advised to arrive inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal at least two hours before their flight during peak departure hours of 5-8 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m., and 90 minutes before their flight for all other times and at the South Terminal.

Allegiant passengers go directly to new South Terminal

Attention Allegiant Air passengers: Go directly to the new South Terminal, located at 10000 Logistics Lane, to park and catch their flights. All Allegiant flights now operate out the South Terminal, accessed only from the south boundary of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport campus. The south side of the airport is accessed by taking US 183 to Burleson Road then to Emma Browning. For more on the South Terminal, click on http://www.austinsouthterminal.com/.
