DUBAI, U.A.E., 25th April 2017: dnata’s contribution to the international cargo industry has again been recognized by its industry colleagues, with the company named Ground Handler of The Year for the fourth year in a row, by Air Cargo News.

A total of 14 categories featured in the awards, based on a mix of direct voting by more than 18,000 supply chain professionals and company submissions.

Shippers, freight forwarders and other industry sectors were asked to vote, over a two month period, for the ground handler that provides the best overall customer experience and service in each region.

"This type of industry recognition shows we’re on the right track to fulfil our vision of being the world’s most admired air services provider," said Gary Chapman, President dnata.

dnata's teams celebrated many milestones over the past 12 months, including:

  • In 2016 dnata opened a new airside cargo facility in Adelaide, Australia, that provides faster cargo handling, is fully OTS and TSA accredited for security screening and includes refrigerated and ambient temperature product options.

  • dnata also opened a new export customer service center and cargo integrated control centre in the Dubai Airport Free Zone - Freight Gate 5. This facility enhances its overall product offer for airlines, freight forwarders and shippers, and will improve efficiency at its busy hub.

  • dnata in Singapore marked a milestone when it was awarded GDP certification for pharmaceutical product transport. This achievement is testament to our ongoing investment in our cool chain capabilities.

  • The company's GDP and CEIV certified facility in the Netherlands was the first to introduce temperature controlled cargo dollies at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, offering a closed temperature controlled system, for seamless delivery of temperature-sensitive goods from the warehouse to the aircraft.

  • In London Heathrow, dnata opened a new and bespoke state-of-the-art on-airport cargo facility, dedicated to long-term partner Cathay Pacific.

  • The company entered Canada through the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in GTA Aviation’s cargo and ground handling operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The award was collected on behalf of the One dnata team by Gary Morgan, CEO dnata UK, at a ceremony in London.
