IKHANA Aircraft Services Announces Trans Maldivian Airways to Re-Life One of Their DHC-6-300 Twin Otters and Receives PMA on the Fuselage

As an FAA-PMA product, IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage may now be provided with an FAA Form 8130-3 (equivalent to EASA/TCCA Form One) for component manufacture.

IKHANA Aircraft Services (IKHANA) is pleased to announce that Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has chosen to Re-Life™ a DHC-6-300 Twin Otter as approved in accordance with IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage™ Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). “TMA operates the largest twin-otter fleet in the world, flying more than 120,000 flights annually, transferring close to a million passengers to their island destinations. Recently, TMA added two more aircraft to its fleet thereby further strengthening its position as the world’s largest seaplane operator” said Stanley Ranjitkumar, TMA’s Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy Company Secretary. “TMA sees the many benefits of this Re-Life™ program as it adds tremendous value to the already legendary Twin Otter”.

In addition, IKHANA is also pleased to announce that the RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage™ has just been issued FAA-PMA. As an FAA-PMA product, IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage™ may now be provided with an FAA Form 8130-3 (equivalent to EASA/TCCA Form One) for component manufacture. “Our goal has always been to add value to whatever we do,” states John Zublin President/CEO of IKHANA. ”Receiving PMA on the structural fuselage is another very important tool in our effort to bring value and flexibility to Twin Otter operators worldwide.” Combined with IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Wing Boxes™, RWMI DHC-6 ReLife Flight Controls™, and RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Nacelles™ all of the Twin Otter life limited structural components are now eligible for Re-Life™ re-manufacture providing regulatory approved “NEW” components.

The original DHC-6-100, -200, and -300 Series Twin Otters, produced from 1965 to 1988, have a fuselage fatigue life limit of 66,000 hours/132,000 cycles. The RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage STC™, allowing NEW 66,000 hours/132,000 cycles of fatigue life, was awarded by the FAA in November of 2011 and is applicable to all of the DHC-6 Legacy Series Twin Otter airplanes.
