NEW CANAAN, Conn., March 17, 2017 – APP Jet Center, an aviation company of fixed based operations (FBOs) and airport real estate, is pleased to announce that the major expansion and renovation of its FBO at San Francisco-area Hayward Executive Airport (HWD) opened Wednesday, March 15.
A celebratory reception at the new facility was held Wednesday morning. APP intends with this development to alleviate hangar overcrowding and better serve its fast growing client base.
The $5 million project includes:
- Construction of a new 20,000-square-foot hangar (with 28-foot tall doors), increasing APP’s capacity to 86,000 square feet of hangar space at Hayward. The hangar is already 75 percent leased, with most of the tenants operating large cabin aircraft.
- Construction of a new 3,000-square-foot modern FBO passenger terminal offering snooze rooms, showers and the most modern facilities on the field.
- Renovation of APP’s adjacent 12,000-square-foot facility to which the new 20,000-square-foot hangar is attached. This provides a total of 32,000 square feet of contiguous modern hangar space.
- An open ramp for aircraft to access easily without congestion.
Design of the project passenger areas, directed by Niche Interiors, a leading San Francisco interior design firm, aesthetically reflects the style of Silicon Valley.
