Sun Country Joins South Terminal With Austin to Minneapolis – St. Paul

Sun Country Airlines has announced new, seasonal, nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport (MSP) beginning Aug. 31. With this service, Sun Country becomes the newest airline to join the South Terminal at Austin’s airport.

“From the Land of 10,000 Lakes to the Live Music Capital of the World, we welcome Sun Country Airlines’ new nonstop between Austin and Minneapolis-St. Paul,” said Jim Smith, executive director Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

“We’re delighted to welcome Sun Country to Austin and the South Terminal at ABIA,” said Jeff Pearse, CEO of LoneStar Airport Holdings LLC, the developer and operator of the South Terminal. “The South Terminal’s intimate and retro-vibe will offer Sun Country’s passengers an airport experience as unique as Austin!”

"Our Midwest travelers can now experience Austin's thriving music, entertainment, cuisine and culture, while bringing our southern travelers up north to experience the museums, shopping and great outdoors of Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding area.” 

Flights will depart Austin on Sundays at 11 a.m., arriving at Minneapolis-St. Paul at 1:35 p.m. starting on Sept. 3. Service from Minneapolis-St. Paul departs Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. and arrives in Austin at 6:15 p.m., starting Aug.31.
