Allegiant has announced that its nonstop flights between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which resume on June 1, will continue on an ongoing basis after the summer. The flights were previously seasonal in nature.
Allegiant will use 156-seat Airbus A319 aircraft for the MEM-LAX service. The flights will be offered twice weekly.
Once seasonal flights to Destin-Ft. Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) begin in May, Allegiant will have nonstop service to eight destinations at MEM, including Austin, Las Vegas, Orlando/Sanford, St. Pete-Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale. Allegiant began operations at MEM in May 2015.
“Allegiant’s service between Memphis and Los Angeles has performed extremely well,” said Pace Cooper, chairman of the board of commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “Passengers now have an ongoing low-cost air service option to the West Coast.”
