Allegiant on Jan. 10, announces new nonstop service to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida from Springfield, Mo.
“We’re very excited to add these new nonstop flights for Springfield travelers,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “Destin/Fort Walton Beach is an extremely popular, sunny destination, and we know that folks will take advantage of these new flights to the Emerald Coast this summer.”
The new seasonal flights begin May 25. The flights will operate twice weekly between Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). The flights will provide Springfield area travelers with their only nonstop flight option to northwest Florida.
“What’s not to like about the white sands of the Florida panhandle?” says Brain Weiler, director of the Springfield airport. “Folks in Southwest Missouri have made the 12-hour drive to Ft. Walton Beach for years. Now it’s just a couple of hours away on Allegiant’s new, nonstop service. Vacation doesn’t get any easier than this.”
