DALLAS – Business Jet Center, in coordination with Dallas Love Field and Southwest Airlines®, benefited over 400 kids with the first annual “Wings of Wishes” holiday event. Families were welcomed to the Southwest Airlines TOPS building on Saturday, Dec. 10, where they enjoyed breakfast with Santa, games, face painting and dancing with elves. Thousands of items were donated that went to benefit nearly 450 individuals. A variety of presents including play kitchen sets, clothing, bunk beds, Christmas trees, bikes, trampolines, computers and toys were contributed and distributed based on “wish lists” submitted by each family.
“Since 2014, we have assisted ten families each December through our ‘Christmas to Remember’ program,” stated Jamie Santiago, Chief Brand Manager for Business Jet Center. “When we were approached and asked to expand that to 100 families, in conjunction with the Centennial celebration of Dallas Love Field, we were both honored and excited at the opportunity.”
The 102 families that benefitted from this event were adopted from neighborhood schools and organizations near Dallas Love Field. LV Stockard, K.B. Polk, Maple Lawn and Sam Houston intermediate and elementary schools were all represented.
Business Jet Center recently established its own 501(c)(3), Business Jet Cares, Inc., to help facilitate its ongoing community involvement projects such as the annual Christmas outreach and their annual Charity Golf Tournament, which has donated more than $100k to veteran charities over the past four years.
