The Annual ATEC Conference: A Venue for Building Partnerships

Dec. 20, 2016
Aviation Technician Education Council announces the first-ever Employer Expo on April 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00, in conjunction with the annual conference in Seattle.

More studies and reports are confirming what we already know: the aviation industry is on the verge of a skilled technical personnel shortage. In response to that challenge, this year’s ATEC Annual Conference theme is pipeline development. An entire day of general sessions and networking events will be dedicated to the creation and cultivation of relationships both “upstream” and “downstream,” and ensuring a continuous flow of maintainers to support the next generation of aircraft.

A vital piece of the workforce pipeline will depend on AMTS-employer partnerships. ATEC leadership decided the council had a role to play, and is happy to announce our first-ever Employer Expo. The reception will take place on April 2 from 4:00 to 7:00, in conjunction with our annual conference in Seattle. http://www.atec-amt.org/employer-expo.html.

The event's purpose is to provide a networking opportunity for educators and recruiters to explore partnership possibilities. For aviation companies, it is a one-stop shop for management and human resource representatives to meet with more than 140 instructors, administrators and career development personnel from A&P schools across the U.S. For AMTS, it means additional avenues and opportunities for students looking for a career in aviation.

The employer expo is included in conference attendee registration. Sponsorship opportunities are available to employers that would like to provide materials on their company and hiring needs. A special thanks to the first two companies to commit support for the event:

We are excited to provide this opportunity and hope it will facilitate new relationships and ideas. If you have any questions about the ATEC Conference visit http://www.atec-amt.org/ or feel free to contact me at [email protected].
