Mark Uncapher Joins MWAA Board of Directors

Mark Uncapher joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors at its monthly meeting Dec. 14. Uncapher was appointed to a six-year term by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, effective Dec. 1. He is director of regulatory and government affairs at the Telecommunications Industry Association. Uncapher is a member of the New York State and D.C. bars and a graduate of New York Law School and George Washington University.

Uncapher previously was counsel to the subcommittee on government management, information and technology of the House oversight and government reform committee. After serving on Capitol Hill, he was senior vice president and counsel of the Information Technology Association of America and vice president and counsel at Stateside Associates. 

Uncapher served as Montgomery County’s Republican Party chairman from 2008 to 2013 and continues to serve as an officer of both the Montgomery County and Maryland State Republican Party. He was elected an alternate delegate in 2008 and delegate in 2012 to the Republican National Convention. He was a member of the presidential transition team for the Federal Communication Commission from 2000 to 2001. 

Before moving to Maryland, Uncapher was an executive in New York with Park Communications and assistant counsel to the New York state comptroller.
