NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio, Dec. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CommutAir announced that it had hired Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Penn as its (14 CFR 119.65) Chief Inspector and promoted Mr. Jobin "Joey" Dhaliwal to Director of Crew Resources.

Jeff was previously the Chief Inspector and Manager of Quality at Jet Aircraft Maintenance, in Miami, FL, where he oversaw fifty plus airline customers, at half dozen locations.  His career spans two decades in quality oversight positions at large regional operators such as Independence Air, Mesa, and Compass.  Jeff also served in the U.S. Marine Corps as Crew Chief. He is finishing his MBA to add to his BS in Aeronautical Studies and Aviation Maintenance.  He will report to CommutAir's COO, Joel Raymond, who commented that, "Adding an industry veteran with a breadth of credentials, such as Jeff, to our maintenance leadership team, bolsters our capabilities as we continue to execute our rapid growth plans." Jeff will take over from Robert "Bob" Melone, who had previously announced his departure, but is assisting in a smooth transition.

Joey joined CommutAir in November of 2014, as Regional Manager of Airport Operations, overseeing airport operations throughout the mid-Atlantic region, including hub operations at Washington Dulles.  Vice President of Flight Operations, Justin Conrad, stated,  "I'm confident Joey's keen understanding of airline operations coupled with his proven leadership will add significant value to our growing Crew Resources department." Joey relocated to the corporate offices in North Olmsted, OH, from Dulles, VA.

These appointments are in partial fulfilment of the unprecedented hiring and advancement opportunities at CommutAir, required as it triples in size through the addition of 40 ERJ145 aircraft (over the next 2 years).  In response to these hiring needs, CommutAir has designed industry leading pay and benefits packages.  For example, for incoming pilots, CommutAir offers:
