Barry Tilson Joins Pentastar Aviation as Director of Maintenance

Tilson will be responsible for leading the Maintenance, Avionics and Interior department’s customer satisfaction excellence, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the delivery of company financial objectives.

WATERFORD, MI. – Pentastar Aviation, a leader in the world of business aviation, announced today that Barry Tilson has joined on as Director of Maintenance. Tilson reports to Doug Levangie, Vice President of Maintenance Operations & Advisory Services.

Tilson brings years of expertise in aircraft mechanics, inspections, exceptional customer service and maintenance sales to Pentastar Aviation. In his new position, Tilson will be responsible for leading the Maintenance, Avionics and Interior department’s customer satisfaction excellence, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the delivery of company financial objectives. 

With a career steeped in the aviation industry, Tilson has stimulated aircraft maintenance market growth, served as a leader in aircraft inspection and problem troubleshooting, worked as a leader to groom other experts in aviation maintenance and is proficient at computerized maintenance programs.

Most recently, Tilson was an MRO Maintenance Sales Representative and Service Manager at TechnicAir and Landmark Aviation in Grand Rapids. Prior to that he was Director of Maintenance at Northern Air in Grand Rapids.

Tilson earned his Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Lansing Community College, where he was awarded an Honor Graduate Award for Superior Achievement and Excellence of Performance in Aviation Technology.   He also has multiple certifications in Aviation Service, Troubleshooting, and Engine Services among others.
