Geno's Steaks Opens Location at Philadelphia International Airport

Nov. 3, 2016

MarketPlace PHL celebrated another milestone in November by welcoming the iconic Philadelphia favorite, Geno’s Steaks, during a grand opening ceremony, drawing visitors to the B/C Connector of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

The arrival of this Philadelphia staple was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting led by representatives from MarketPlace PHL, the Department of Aviation and Geno’s Steaks. The event included samples of cheesesteaks for attendees to enjoy.

The ribbon-cutting was preceded by remarks from Rochelle “Chellie” Cameron, CEO of PHL, Clarence LeJeune, Managing Partner of MarketPlace PHL and all three Geno’s owners.

“Our partnership with a renowned establishment like Geno’s Steaks embodies the city’s rich food culture and offers guests an immediate chance to experience this Philly classic,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President & General Manager of MarketPlace PHL.

Geno’s Steaks has been a city-wide favorite and cornerstone in serving original Philadelphia cheesesteaks since its start in 1966. Run in part by Geno Vento, Erin Zwiercan and Ken Adams, the Geno’s team is dedicated to serving its famous steaks to those who want a real taste of Philly. Passengers can expect traditional Geno’s Steaks options at the PHL location.

“We started at the beginning of this year and now we’re here! Being in the Philadelphia International Airport is still surreal to me and I want to give a special thank you to everyone involved throughout this process. My, goal, as we expand, is to give consumers the same experience that they would have in our South Philadelphia location – quality, cleanliness and a great product. We look forward to serving travelers from all over the world and giving them a taste of Philly,” said Geno Vento, owner of Geno’s Steaks.
