Volaris Announces New Miami Service

Oct. 19, 2016

Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris has announced that it will launch service at Miami International Airport on Feb. 1, with four weekly flights to Guadalajara and daily flights to Mexico City. Guadalajara will become MIA’s sixth route within Mexico, the airport’s second-busiest international market, with 1.4 million total passengers in 2015. All flights will utilize Airbus A320 aircraft. Volaris offers more than 200 daily flights on routes connecting cities in Mexico and the United States.

“We are honored that Volaris has chosen to expand its South Florida operations to MIA, and we look forward to welcoming their new service to Guadalajara,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González. “Mexico continues to be a growing international market for us, and we are proud to offer local residents another option to these two popular destinations.”
