UAVAir has revealed that it will be bringing its Unmanned Aerial Qualification (UAQ) course to Newbury, adding to its growing list of locations throughout the UK. The recognised drone-training academy will be running at Newbury Race Course, with the first session taking place from 10th-12th December. All candidates enrolling on the course are given the chance to receive a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved drone licence, allowing them to legally fly a drone for commercial operations. This course takes just three days to complete, offering high quality flight training in a short space of time.

Designed by experts in aviation, the course is open to students from a wide range of backgrounds and capabilities. After completing the fast track UAQ training, candidates can apply for a Permission for Aerial Work (PfAW) licence from the CAA, opening the door to a long and successful career as a drone pilot.

John Gore, Opera ions Manager at UAVAir said, “Drones have moved on from being the futuristic technology they were once considered to be, and now they are embraced by many companies in a wide range of industries. Being a drone pilot is quickly becoming a stable and attractive career choice for lots of people. Our course gives budding pilots the certifications needed to follow this new path, as well as an in-depth understanding of the technology to truly enhance their knowledge of the sector.”

All instructors at UAVAir are aviation experts, experienced in operating both manned and unmanned aircraft. Together, they have worked for a combined decade in many industries including engineering, military, and aerial drone photography. Using this knowledge, the course offered by UAVAir gives participants a practical and theoretical understanding of drone operations, leveraging their learning with unrivalled insight in order to prepare each candidate for a professional UAV piloting career.

John Gore, Operations Manager added, “Our goal is to help and support the use of UAV’s, and the training we offer reflects this. We are excited to meet and train a new wave of drone pilots as we bring our course to Newbury.”

With the commercial drone market predicted to be worth almost a billion pounds in 2020, now is a great time to invest in a UAQ to prepare for an industry that is set to grow at an exponential rate.
