Cannes, 13 October 2016: Europe’s premier business aviation services event has just closed the curtain on its inaugural edition and all indications from attendees, exhibitors and organizers alike point to a successful launch and a promising future for AIR OPS Europe. Next year’s edition has already been confirmed for 20-21 September 2017, at the same location.

“The first event of its kind in Europe, AIR OPS is our answer to the clear need for a platform for the ground services community to strengthen their competitiveness to deliver best-in-class customer experiences,” said Fabio Gamba, CEO EBAA.

Powered by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), the first edition of AIR OPS Europe attracted 30 exhibitors and close to 400 visitors to the two-day conference and exhibition.

“AIR OPS Europe proved to be a great platform to strengthen existing relationships with our customers, find new prospects and network with industry colleagues,” said Paul James, DC Aviation. “We’ll definitely be back next year!”

“This business aviation support services convention gave us the opportunity to see our customers and providers, consolidate our network and be a part of the debate regarding procedures for improving the ground operations environment,” added Karim Berrandou, G-Ops.

“One of the keys to success for our business lies in having a network of trusted international partners throughout the entire value chain and AIR OPS Europe provides a crucial platform to nurture and grow this network,” said Bernhard Fragner, Founder & CEO, GlobeAir.

Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Management Board of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group that hosted the event, said: “The Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group was honoured to host the first edition of AIR OPS Europe, an event organized by the European Business Aviation Association. Our Group is looking forward to welcoming again, on the French Riviera soil, the second edition next year, to foster our territory’s business development.”

Bernard Brochand, a member of the National Assembly of France representing the region and former mayor of Cannes, leant his support to AIR OPS Europe as well in an opening address, emphasizing the importance of business aviation for the local and regional economy.

“The facilities and people here at Cannes Airport and the region have been fantastic and we look forward to partnering with them again for next year’s AIR OPS Europe,” added EBAA’s recently-appointed Chairman, Juergen Wiese.
