During August, 431,729 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 5 percent compared to August 2015. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.7 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in August was Delta Air Lines with 101,912 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (78,526), JetBlue (72,152), American (70,195) and United (36,066).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,144 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to August 2015. Page Field saw 7,871 movements, an 11.8 percent increase from August 2015. In addition, more than 2.6 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in August 2016, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to August 2015.
