FL: GACRAA Appoints Two New Board Members

The Gainesville City Commission has appointed two new board members to the Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA), the airport’s governing body.

Grace Horvath is vice president of services at CPAmerica International Inc., a national not-for-profit trade association serving independent CPA firms. Horvath directs all aspects of service provided to member firms including educational and networking events, firm marketing tools, domestic and international business development tools, and resources designed to increase firm growth, profitability and sustainability.

Horvath has been a member of the Rotary Club of Gainesville since 2001, serving as 2013-2014 president.  She has served twice as the only person and woman, to serve two successive years as president of the Rotary Club of Gainesville Foundation Board and Feastmaster of the Wild Game Feast.  She was recognized as a 2016 Santa Fe College Woman of Distinction.  Horvath serves on the Gainesville Fisher House Foundation board, the advisory board for Advantage Publishing, and as Secretary of the Gainesville Women's Forum.  She served on both the operations and foundation boards of Girls Place, Inc.

Peter Lars Johnson has been appointed for a third term. Johnson served as a Gov. Jeb Bush appointment on the airport authority for two terms from 2004 to 2010, and served as its chair for two years, 2008-2009.  Johnson is an entrepreneur, business executive/consultant with considerable experience in finance, marketing and management in a wide range of industries.  From energy saving technologies, consumer projects, leadership development, performance management, and smart phone application development.

Currently, he is co-founder and president of Travel Revealed, a website which was founded to scale and expand the incredibly successful Hawaii Revealed series, first to the mainland USA and then to the world.  Johnson also serves on the local advisory board for BBVA Compass Bank.  He graduated from the University of Florida, is married to nutrition professor Dr. Gail Kauwell and has three grown children.

Horvath and Johnson take the positions left open upon the completion of terms by Brian Scarborough and Susan Crowley.
