Lee County Port Authority Wins Award for Precheck Campaign

Aug. 15, 2016

The Lee County Port Authority was honored with the Dick Pope All Florida Grand Golden Image Award, presented to the best public relations program in the state during a given year, from the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) at the 2016 Golden Image Awards held in Palm Harbor, Fla. FPRA conducts the Golden Image Awards annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs. The awards have become a standard of excellence in demonstrating the best of innovation, planning and design in the state of Florida. LCPA also received a Golden Image Award and a Judges’ Award for its Southwest Florida International Airport TSA PreCheck Campaign.

LCPA created a promotional campaign for a temporary TSA PreCheck enrollment center at Southwest Florida International Airport in December. The launch was so successful it set an airport record for the most daily enrollments by a two-agent office and resulted in the government contractor deciding to open a permanent center at RSW in 2016.

The 2016 Golden Image competition received 136 entries from throughout the state and was judged by past state presidents of the Florida Public Relations Association and members of the FPRA Counselors’ Network.
