He will establish an AAR office in Washington, D.C., and be responsible for driving growth through strategic partnerships and alliances and deepening relationships with federal, state and local government officials.

WOOD DALE, Illinois, August 10, 2016 – AAR, a global aerospace and defense contractor and leading provider of aviation services to airlines and governments worldwide, announces it has named Marcus Jadotte as its Vice President of Public Affairs. Jadotte, most recently an Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Commerce Department, will establish an AAR office in Washington, D.C., and be responsible for driving growth through strategic partnerships and alliances and deepening relationships with federal, state and local government officials.

Jadotte has a broad mix of global trade, investment and policy analysis and research prowess from his time as President Obama’s Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Analysis for the International Trade Administration, where he served as chief liaison with U.S. industry and trade associations and advised the Undersecretary and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on trade and investment policies impacting America’s global competitiveness.

“I am very excited that Marcus will be bringing his government and trade experience to AAR.  Marcus has demonstrated a strength in identifying new markets and bringing resources together to create best-in-class solutions for customers around the world,” said David P. Storch, Chairman, CEO and President of AAR.

Jadotte’s new position at AAR will build on the government relations progress made by Cheryle Jackson, who was recently named President, AAR Africa.

“During his time at the Commerce Department, Marcus helped many U.S. companies identify and form trade partnerships around the world,” Jackson said. “We are delighted that he has agreed to add his unique blend of government experience and business intelligence to the AAR team as we work to expand our business with the U.S. government and its allies.”

Previously, Jadotte served as Vice President of Public Affairs and Multicultural Development for NASCAR, becoming the first African-American officer in NASCAR history. Prior to NASCAR, he served as chief of staff to two U.S. congressmen and served in the Labor Department under the Clinton administration. In 2014, Savoy magazine named Jadotte as one of the "Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America."
