Denver International Airport Names Patrick Heck Chief Commercial Officer

Denver International Airport (DEN) on Aug. 4, announced the appointment Patrick Heck as the airport’s new chief commercial officer-executive vice president for global development.  In this role, Heck will be in charge of commercial properties, concessions, parking and ground transportation, air service development, airline affairs and strategic partnerships and economic development.

Heck began his career at DEN in 2006 as the airport’s strategic advisor, overseeing the airport’s performance measurement and strategic planning operations. From 2007-2009 he served as DEN’s deputy manager for revenue and business development, where he was responsible for all commercial activities at the airport including food and beverage, retail, parking and ground transportation. From 2009-2014 Heck served as DEN’s chief financial officer, overseeing the airport’s financial functions, including the capital improvement budget, debt portfolio and operating budget.

Heck is returning to DEN after most recently serving as vice president for commercial at the Manchester Airport Group USA, and prior to that as the chief financial officer at Continuum Partners in Denver.

Heck’s long career in aviation began with United Airlines in 2000, when he served as the airline’s senior business analyst for the United Flight Training Center. In 2003 he assumed the role of manager for United’s flight training scheduling, and in 2005 he was named general manager for United’s flight training services.

Heck earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in public policy and music from the University of Denver.

Heck will assume his new role Sept. 19.
