Southwest Airlines Announces Nonstop Service From DEN to Belize City

Southwest Airlines and Denver International Airport (DEN) on Aug. 4, announced that the airline will begin offering seasonal nonstop service on Saturdays from Denver to Belize City, Belize beginning March 11.

Belize is a new international destination for Denver that sits on the eastern coast of Central America and is known around the world for its reef scuba diving, fishing, beaches and eco-tourism. More than 13,000 passengers traveled between Denver and Belize City in the last year, and the market for travel between the Mile High City and Belize’s largest city has grown an estimated 50 percent since 2013.

The new service will operate once per week, on Saturdays, during the peak season for travel to Belize from March 11 through April 22. The flight is scheduled to depart DEN at 10:30 a.m., arriving in Belize City at 2:50 p.m. (local times). It will operate using a 737-700 with 143 seats.

“With the addition of Belize City to our growing network of international destinations, Denver travelers will have an exciting new city to explore during next year’s spring break season, and passengers from across the United States will be able to conveniently connect through Denver International Airport to this new Central American destination,” airport CEO Kim Day said.

With the addition of Belize City, DEN now has service to 20 international destinations in eight countries, and more than 170 total nonstop destinations.
