Aeromexico Offers Nonstop DEN-Monterrey Service

July 28, 2016

Aeromexico and Denver International Airport (DEN) announced July 27 that the airline will begin offering nonstop service from Denver to Monterrey, Mexico this December.

This new international destination from Denver will operate seasonally from Dec. 17 to Jan. 15 on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will operate using an Embraer 170 with 76 seats.

Monterrey is the third-largest city in Mexico with nearly 4.4 million residents, and is the capital of the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon which shares its border with Texas.

“We are very excited that Aeromexico will expand their global reach from Denver with the addition of seasonal flights to Monterrey this December,” airport CEO Kim Day said. “The service not only provides more access to Colorado during the peak ski season, but it also connects Denver nonstop to our second-largest unserved market in Mexico.”

The Denver to Monterrey market grew an estimated 65 percent in 2015 compared to the prior year, and has grown an estimated 94 percent since 2009.

“This new flight will bring Mexican customers more and better options to connect for winter ski vacations, as Monterrey is our second most important hub from which Aeromexico connects to more than 20 destinations,” said Anko van der Werff, chief revenue officer for Aeromexico. “This route will complement our daily seasonal flight from Denver to Mexico City that has been served for over six years.”
