When booking flights, customers can opt for Frontier’s bundled choice, The WORKS, which contains the airline’s most popular options for one low price, including one carry-on bag, one checked bag, best available seat including Stretch and Exit Row options, full refundability when canceled at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure, no change fees and priority boarding.

“Punta Gorda offers travelers another great option when looking for warm weather getaways during the cold weather months in the northern part of the United Sates,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president – commercial, Frontier Airlines. “We’re excited to offer travelers in the Midwest and on the East Coast nonstop service to a great vacation spot.”

Frontier is the second airline service to provide nonstop service for passengers at Punta Gorda Airport, the result of long-term efforts by the Charlotte County Airport Authority to attract additional low-cost airline service providers. Allegiant Air offers nonstop service to 30 cities across the U.S.

“We are proud to welcome Frontier Airlines to Punta Gorda Airport,” said Charlotte County Airport Authority Executive Director Gary Quill. “Our goal is continued growth, and it is with new partners like Frontier Airlines that we can meet increasing travel needs and offer expanded destination options for Southwest Florida residents and visitors.”

The Charlotte County Airport Authority expects to serve more than 1 million passengers this year at Punta Gorda Airport. Passenger counts have increased for the past 32 months, with the rolling 12-month passenger count totaling 972,316. It recently completed a two-year terminal expansion program that culminated with the May opening of a new 40,000-square-foot facility, including additional gates, check-in counters, baggage claim belts and security checkpoints.

Quill added, “For the past several years, we have worked hard to prepare for more flights and passengers. With both Frontier and Allegiant, we are well-poised to continue this progress.”
