Donaldson Aerospace & Defense Recieves First FAA Certification for Dry Media Inlet Barrier Filter for Commercial Use

The newly certified IBF will be on display during the ALEA EXPO 2016.

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, July 19, 2016 — Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a business unit within Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI) has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for its dry media Inlet Barrier Filter (IBF) for the Bell 407 helicopter. Although Donaldson dry media filters have years of front line experience on U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopters, this is the company’s first commercially certified dry media solution.

Donaldson invites current and prospective customers to view the newly certified IBF in exhibit 733 at the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA) EXPO 2016, July 20-23 in Savannah, Georgia. Oiled media IBFs will also be on display.

Testing has shown that Donaldson’s next-generation non-woven dry media with proprietary nanofiber technology has more depth than competitive systems, key to its superior capacity to hold dust and directly contributing to reductions in maintenance requirements.

“By offering dry media to the commercial market, Donaldson is ensuring that operators have a range of quality options,” said Matt Fortuna, general manager of Donaldson Aerospace & Defense. “We are proud to partner with airborne law enforcers worldwide and look forward to helping them find the best solution for their filtration needs.”
